Intro To Mobile Marketing For Small Business

Contest details are shown below the video.

I had the honor of being one of eight featured speakers at the 2011 Super Synergy Event on October 27th in Roanoke, Virginia. My topic was on taking your small business mobile. Below is the video of my ten minute presentation at that event.

I cover the following key points:

  • Important terms to know.
  • Why mobile marketing is so important to your business NOW.
  • Global trends and where to look.
  • How fast mobile is growing in the U.S.
  • What some local businesses are doing with mobile.
  • What you need to be doing with mobile.
  • How make mobile work for you.

and finally, I make a compelling offer. I make that same offer to you today. See the details below the video.

I recently became a partner in HowNow Mobile.

To celebrate… and to put my new partners to the test… I have negotiated a special prize package for one lucky winner.
To enter, simply text the word OFFER to 66782 for a chance to win a 500 subscriber viral campaign PLUS one-on-one mobile marketing consulting to help you make your campaign a success. (Message & data rates may apply. To opt-out reply StopOFFER.)

Total prize value is more than $1,800.

The winner will be chosen by random drawing and notified by text message. Duh… this IS a mobile company, after all.

UPDATE: Jen Ward of Blue Filly Productions won the grand prize for October 2011. We will be drawing again, soon.

The winner will have 10 days to claim their prize. If we don’t hear from the winner within those 10 days then we will pick another winner and so on until the prize is awarded. We may choose to award more than one prize package. I’ll twist some arms to see what I can get for you.

Good luck.

WOW! Watch This Time Lapse Video For Inspiration

I’m not one to get too excited by all the hype we see online these days.  I have always felt that publishing platforms will come and go. Look at MySpace… passed by Facebook and Twitter. Eventually these, too will live out their life span to be replaced by the next big thing.

Bill Gates was right. Content IS king. It doesn’t matter how you publish it… by petroglyph, cuneiform, papyrus, scroll, parchment, scribe, printing press, photograph, film, telegraph, telephone, radio, television, email, web video, tweets or text messaging… it’s not how you deliver the message but what you say that matters.

Great content will always be the one constant. The one thing that will always be in-demand. The one thing that will set you apart from all the rest in any field. Here is one filmmaker who has totally mastered his craft and delivers content so great as to be deeply moving and inspirational.

The creator of this truly amazing time lapse film of Utah and Arizona is Dustin Farrell. “Every frame of this video is a raw still from a Canon 5D2 DSLR and processed with Adobe software,” he says “I felt that showing them again with motion controlled HDR and/or night timelapse would be a new way to see old landmarks.”. Watch in HD at full screen to get the most of the experience. Better yet, hook it up to your big screen t.v. and be blown away. It’s almost spiritual.

Brian Duvall Named Small Business Advocate of The Year

Brian Duvall receives the award from Chamber President Joyce WaughThe Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce named Duvall Media 2011 Small Business Advocate of the Year.

I am deeply honored and humbled by this award… and also totally stoked to receive it. I couldn’t have done it without the help of some totally awesome people whom I get to work with on a fairly regular basis these days.

First, I would like to thank Lynda McNutt Foster for all that she has done to help my business grow and for including me on the really cool and important projects she is developing.

I also need to thank Samantha Steidle of Virtual Marketing who nominated Duvall Media. She also provided assistance  in helping me get my application packets together and turned in on time. I still owe you and your assistant lunch, Samantha.

Another important member of the Synergy Nation who has helped and encourage me along is Kimberly Kolb Eakin. She’s always there beaming with energy and positive vibes… it’s like she’s emitting her own sunshine.

I also thank Joyce Waugh of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to participate in the chamber and the awards program. Thank you, Joyce… for the award. You totally made my year.

Here’s the short interview that Lynda did with me during the reception just before the awards banquet last night.
